Fruits basket is about the self-discovery of an orphan girl with a generous 

and loving nature.

 

In this supernatural romance, written and illustrated by Natsuki Takaya, a young Tohru Honda, takes on the challenge of breaking the Zodiac curse and pledges to free her friends from their sufferings.

 After learning of the hardships and pain faced by the afflicted members of the Soma family, not only does she accept the Soumas for who they are, but she also helps them forget about their curse and motivates them to live a meaningful life.

Fruit basket is a fulfilling anime and if you happen to be a sucker for romance, this shojo anime is just perfect for you.

Even after watching all the seasons of this anime, fans want more and to be honest, nobody can blame them.

How many seasons of Fruits Basket are available?

The anime adaptation of this series was announced in November 2018 and three seasons have

aired thus far.

SEASON 1: The first season had 25 episodes, that aired on TV from Tokyo 6 April to 21 September 2019.

SEASON 2:  After a short break of six months, the second season  was announced, which ran

                      from 7 April to 22 September 2020.

                   

SEASON 3: A third season, was premiered on 6th April 2021 and aired till 29 June 2021

The 3rd season, (titled Fruits Basket: The Final), aired its season finale on June 29, 2021.

The last season was animated was Studio TMS ENTERTAINMENT (animators of Spider-Man, Lupin the third).

Will season 4 of Fruits Basket come out?

Chances of season 4 in the near future are very minimal, as the third season was titled ‘The Final’ and the studio (TMS ENTERTAINMENT) has not released any news regarding 

Season 4.

It is, most likely, that the two-year-long journeys of this fascinating anime have come to an end.

However, the studio announced a new series “Kyoko to Katsuya no Monogatari”.

The film (a prequel) will focus on the story of Tohru's parents, and will 

be launched in 2022.

Episodes in Season 4?

Even though Season 4 will not be aired anytime soon, there is still a chance that the studio 

decides to launch OVAs (Original video animation) or even a spin-off based 

on your characters life.

The studio may very well decide to go a different route, launching a 

a spin-off with different characters from the same universe or kids of 

the mast cast.

This is all speculation on my part, always make sure to check the 

official announcements.

Launch date of Season 4.

As the studio, along with the author decided to launch a 

film first, in 2022 rather than announcing a new season, made it 

clear that season 4 won’t be in production until late 2022.

So, it’s possible that the season 4 gets launched in mid. 2023 or early

2024.
